Silver Beach Creek Stormwater Improvements

LDES acted as the Prime Consultant for the Whatcom County Public Works project that included the installation and construction of water quality treatment facilities in the Silver Beach Creek area between Brownsville Drive and East 16th Place. The design for this project included the utilization of treatment swales, stream bank stabilization, piping systems, catch basins, and treatment vaults. LDES performed the design, preparation specs and plans, project management, agency coordination, and land surveying.

This project was designed and constructed in accordance with WSDOT standards and served as a Whatcom County demonstration project for Low Impact Design. This project was also awarded the 'APWA Project of the Year Award in their Environment - Less than $5 million' category.
