Pacific Industrial Place Commercial Subdivision & Development

What we did

LDES has provided site planning for the Pacific Industrial Park complex including civil design, land surveying, permitting, and project management services for the construction of over 20 lots with over 20 commercial building spaces and associated infrastructure. An underground stormwater vault was included for detention and stormwater management filters were incorporated for water quality. The P.I.P. complex is ongoing and LDES continues to provide professional services as each lot is developed.

LDES provided support for all general sub-contractors on site as well as support directly for BP. Our duties included all underground utility layouts based on existing underground as-builts, pre-construction layout, both horizontal and vertical control and layout, volume calculation, and laser scanning. LDES has been part of over 20 different projects on-site at BP. Our largest is the full replacement of the Coker Heaters and Towers. Our staff was involved with this project from day 1 which included pot-holing and locating underground utilities used for engineering and then moving on to laying out the excavation plan and laying out locations of 80'-100' steel supports. LDES also gave accurate locations for foundation corners and precise elevations for all grades. Our personnel checked the tower and vessel verticality on every structure that went up in the unit. During the project, we also as-built every utility that was newly installed for quality inspection and record keeping.

Another large project that we have been a part of has been tank dike containment calculations. LDES have surveyed any changes made in the containment areas and have calculated the changes in volume that they have created. This data gives our clients the ability to accurately measure the volume they have available in case of a spill from the large storage tanks. Also this last year we have used laser scanning to assist in many projects around the refinery. These laser scans have given us the ability to give very precise and useable data in hard-to-reach or navigate areas. They have included scans of piping, piping connections, railways, road surfaces, and anchor bolt layouts. LDES has used this for as-builts of structures as well to compare to the original design and the final placement.
